Alicia Silverstone is looking back at her early career.
The actress, 48, shared a letter she wrote to her friend in Sept. 1992, when she was waiting to find out whether she'd be filming The Crush, the psychological thriller by Alan Shapiro.
The silly letter that Silverstone's childhood friend had saved was written when the actress was 15. It began, "Dear Sabrina, Hello! This is just a short note. I hope you are doing well!? You sounded so sweet on my machine. You are so lucky the stain on your shorts came out, because I was going to have to kill you!"
"Yes I got a Movie but it is only 95% sure (or something like that). They are in negotiations right now. They want me there on Monday. Lindsay just visited, it was nice. Her boyfriend is kinda quiet. They, the movie people, want me to lose 5-10 lbs. OK laugh now!.... Isn't that such a joke? I can't lose weight, that's like asking me to kill myself," she continued.

"Please call me again before Monday. I would love to hear you again. I am going to dance class now so I will talk to you later," signing off with, "Love ya babe."
Sharing photos of hte letter, the actress captioned the post, "My childhood friend just texted me this letter I wrote her when I was 15. Already negotiating with 'the movie people.' 😂" Later, she added,"Fifteen-year-old me was funny. And trying to survive. #TheCrush."
In August, Silverstone chatted about making the film with Entertainment Weekly for their "90s Issue."
"I was so, so excited to get this job. I felt like I was supposed to be Darian," Silverstone told the outlet. The character's name change came after a lawsuit was filed claiming that the filmmaker had used the actual name of a woman who allegedly inspired the character.

Silverstone says she was auditioning "every day," but found that "I wasn't getting anything."
When it came to The Crush, "They had me back many, many times, and it seemed like I was going to get the part — and then they offered it to someone else."
In a 2013 sitdown with Interview, Silverstone recalled her first day on the set, which was full of highs and lows.

"You’ve never seen anybody smile so much! It just felt like my face was glowing. I thought my first scene — when Darian comes home after kissing Nick [Elwes] and gets tucked in by her mom — was the worst in the world. I couldn’t concentrate, couldn’t get into character, though they told me it was fine," she shared.
"After that, I was supposed to do the scene where Darian takes her shirt off, which was a big deal for me, because even though it wasn’t my body, I still had to act like it was," noting they used a body double.
As far as relating to her character, Silverstone said, "I envied the power that she had," adding, "She knew exactly what people were thinking and she used it. I’d run away from it."
