Former White House staffer Alyssa Farah Griffin slipped up while covering Donald Trump Jr.'s wedding on The View.
The conservative cohost referred to the wedding as a "funeral" live on the air.
View audience members gasped over the flub in the moment.
The View cohost and former White House staffer Alyssa Farah Griffin shocked the talk show's audience Tuesday when she mistakenly referred to Donald Trump Jr.'s recent wedding as his "funeral" live on the air.
The president's son and former supporting star of The Apprentice reality series married socialite Bettina Anderson in Florida, which was followed by a ceremony in the Bahamas on Saturday that his father did not attend. Griffin — who worked for Trump before resigning and speaking out against him — made the flub as the cohosts debated whether or not the president should've attended the ceremony.
"If they had done the wedding at McDonald's, maybe he would go," comedian Joy Behar said, making a jab at the president's reported eating habits.

"I, oddly enough, talked about this on CNN on Friday. I said he should go," Griffin added. "A parent should try to never miss their child's funeral."
The View studio audience gasped at the mistake, while panelist Sara Haines clasped her hands over her mouth in the moment.
Griffin held her arms out as she quickly corrected herself, exclaiming, "Or... I'm sorry, oh God, wedding!"
The new mother, who had her first baby, Justin Griffin, in February, then offered an explanation for the slip-up, telling the audience, "Honestly, I'm so tired, I have a 3-month-old!"

Griffin continued with her thoughts on the issue at hand, stating that a "parent should never miss a wedding if they're able to" go, and that she doesn't think "people would've criticized" the president if he had gone to the wedding.

Quipping about Trump Jr.'s past divorce from Vanessa Trump, who recently announced that she was diagnosed with breast cancer, Behar added, "He can go to the next one."
In a post on Truth Social on Friday, Trump confirmed that he would not attend the ceremony.
