Barry Keoghan gave fans a major first look at his transformation for the highly anticipated Beatles biopic with a dramatic hairstyle change on Jan. 28.
The Irish actor, 33, stepped out in London with noticeably longer locks, unveiling a shaggy, mop-top style that closely echoes the iconic Ringo Starr's hairstyle from his early days as The Beatles’ drummer in the 1960s.

The Saltburn star debuted his new ‘do on the red carpet at a screening of his upcoming movie Crime 101. He attended the event at the Odeon Luxe Leicester Square alongside co-stars Halle Berry, Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, and Monica Barbaro.

While Keoghan, who previously dated Sabrina Carpenter, has often favored shorter hair, this grown-out cut seems to be a deliberate step toward his next big role. He’s set to portray Starr in Sam Mendes’s ambitious The Beatles – A Four-Film Cinematic Event. The series of movies features one film dedicated to each member of the legendary band.

The Beatles project, backed by Sony Pictures and Neal Street Productions, is still a ways off: it's not slated to hit theaters until April 2028. In addition to Keoghan’s Starr, the ensemble cast includes Paul Mescal as Paul McCartney, Harris Dickinson as John Lennon, and Joseph Quinn as George Harrison.

Keoghan’s new hairstyle turned heads not just for its undeniable throwback vibe, but also as a fun early tease of how seriously he’s embracing the role.
