One girl is planning to make a big splash in her school’s talent show.
Her mom, who goes by @_stephmorrison_ on TikTok, captured the moment in a video showing her daughter walking through the garage while her husband trails behind, carrying a piano keyboard.
“POV: Our daughter came home from school and told us she entered the talent show for playing piano,” the mom wrote. The twist? Her daughter has “never played piano in her life,” she added.
“Man, I haven’t laughed this hard in a while,” the mom captioned the post. “I love being a parent (especially with my green-flag husband) and handling all the curveballs my kids throw at us with humor.”
Since posting, the video has gone viral, racking up over 6 million views and more than 2,300 comments. Fans weighed in with encouragement and humor:
“Tag us when she wins first place 😌” one account commented.
“You taught her to have faith in herself. Good job,” another user wrote, to which the mom replied, “Ah! Thank you!! Always going to lift up my kiddos vs tearing them down.”
“How long does she have to master this skill 😭” someone else asked. The mom joked back, “48 hours until the video submission 😂.”
Not long after, she returned to her account with an update on her daughter’s musical journey.
In the video, her daughter is seated at the piano, attempting to play the Bluey theme song. After she finishes, her mom shares her excitement: “Good job,” she said.
She also captioned the post, "[It's] been 24 hours since she came home from school and told us she'll be playing an instrument she's never played in the talent show 🤣 surprised us all and is actually picking it up fast. 24 hrs down and 24 hours to go!"

Over the next few days, the mom continued sharing videos of her daughter practicing. In one clip, she wrote about teaching her daughter to smile if she ever messes up — and eventually, her daughter began doing it just to make her laugh.
"This really has been such a rollercoaster 48 hours but her sillyness, confidence and [attitude] have made it the most fun!! 🤪" she wrote.
Finally, the audition tape was submitted. In another post, the mom shared, "Oh what a wild ride these past 48 hours have been."
Fans continued to cheer them on:
"Proud online aunt here🫶🫶," one wrote.
"Supporting the bravest girl in the whole wide world all the way from South Africa 🇿🇦," another commented.
Someone else added, "This girl is mentally strong and healthy from the soul. Credit goes to happy parents who [show] love, affection and [support] for each other."
