Nine people, including rapper Pooh Shiesty, have been federally charged with kidnapping and robbing at gunpoint Shiesty's fellow artist Gucci Mane and others at a music studio in Dallas, officials said Thursday.

Eight of the nine, including Pooh Shiesty, whose real name is Lontrell Williams Jr., were arrested Wednesday.

The alleged incident occurred January 10, during a scheduled business meeting, which authorities say had been arranged by Pooh Shiesty, to discuss his recording contract with one of the alleged victims.

Gucci Mane, 46, whose real name is Radric Delantic Davis, owns 1017 Records, which lists Williams Jr., 26, as one of its artists.

"As alleged, once these three men were inside the studio, Williams Jr. and eight co-conspirators, several of whom traveled from Memphis, executed a coordinated armed takeover," according to a release from the United States Attorney's Office for the Northern District of Texas.

Authorities claimed that Pooh Shiesty "produced an AK-style pistol and forced one of the victims to sign a release from the recording contract at gunpoint."

The perpetrators, authorities alleged, brandished guns and took cash and jewelry, including Rolex watches, from the people in the studio, and later posted about what they'd taken on social media.

"As alleged, nine defendants travelled to Dallas, Texas, to kidnap and rob victims who thought they were coming into town for a business meeting," U.S. Attorney Ryan Raybould said. "Instead of discussing business in a civil matter, the defendants resorted to violence and intimidation to achieve their purported business objectives."

Lontrell Williams Sr. was among the other men arrested.

If convicted, the defendants face life in prison.
