- Joy Behar will take an extended hiatus from *The View* in the weeks ahead.
- The 83-year-old announced that she'll miss multiple episodes of the talk show.
- Producer Brian Teta revealed several cohost replacements who will sit in for Behar in the interim.
Joy Behar is taking an extended hiatus from *The View*, the comedian and longtime cohost announced Tuesday on the show's *Behind the Table* companion podcast.
In a discussion with the show's producer, Brian Teta, the 83-year-old confirmed that she'll miss multiple episodes of the daytime series in the weeks ahead, with Teta revealing her cohost replacements.
"This is your last podcast for a little bit, because next week you're not going to be here. Are we talking about this?" Teta said on the podcast (below). Behar added, "Well, they made me bank the weekend shows even though I'm not here. You better tell people why I'm not [going to be on the show]."
During her absence, Behar will travel to Europe to present her stage play, *My First Ex-Husband*, to a new international audience after its New York City run.

"I fly to Paris this week, and then I go take the tunnel to London after a week, and I'll be in London a second week doing my play, *My First Ex-Husband*, at the Boulevard Theatre in the West End," Behar explained. "We have Jackie Hoffman and I [playing] the two American women talking, then we have two British actresses. Doesn't that sound like fun?"
Teta revealed that there will be "some folks filling in" for Behar — the exact number of which were not specified, though the comedian did say she'll be on the show until Thursday of this week.
"We've already told people that Sheryl Underwood is coming" for two days, Teta said of the popular guest cohost, a Republican comedian who previously served on the panel for *The View*'s rival daytime series *The Talk*, which was canceled in 2024.

"Next week we're going to have Kara Swisher, who's very funny, very smart, she'll be great," Teta continued, adding that Ana Navarro, the show's permanent cohost who typically only appears on Mondays and Fridays, "will be here some days" while Behar is gone.
In a rare move, moderator "Whoopi [Goldberg] is going to be here on Fridays" as well, Teta said, as the EGOT winner typically has Fridays off, while Behar usually sits out on Mondays each week.
"I don't think she knows yet, but I'll let her know that she's going to be here," Teta joked of Goldberg having to come in on her usual day off.
** has reached out to a *View* representative for exact timing on Behar's planned absences.
*The View* has weathered a number of absences in recent months, with Republican panelist Alyssa Farah Griffin leaving the table for about two months earlier this year following the birth of her first baby in February. Underwood returned to the show in Griffin's absence, as did controversial former cohost Elisabeth Hasselbeck and MAGA supporter Savannah Chrisley.

Just before Griffin's extended absence, Behar also missed six consecutive episodes of the talk show after injuring her foot.
