Kid Rock represented the U.S. Department of War on Memorial Day, but not everyone was happy about it.

On Monday, May 25, the All Summer Long singer, 55, appeared on the department's Rapid Response X account with a message for the military. He said, "On this Memorial Day, we are remembering the sacrifice and service of so many who are not with us today. It's a special day, and we're thinking of them. Once again, I want to say thank you. God bless all of you for your sacrifice and service. Keep on Kid Rockin' in the free world."

What was intended as a heartfelt tribute failed to resonate with followers, who have recently suggested he "needs to go away." One remarked, "Nobody wants to see Kid Rock, especially behind the podium at the Pentagon on Memorial Day."

Another chimed in, "Nobody wants to see kid rock. Full stop." A third questioned, "Why do they have people like Kid Rock, who is a coward and hates America, taking aim at the Pentagon?" A fourth stated, "It's so weird that Americans are obsessed with Kid Rock."

Kid Rock has seen a significant decline in fan support and popularity ever since he positioned himself as a close ally of President Donald Trump. He actively backed both of Trump's presidential campaigns, sold Trump-branded merchandise performed at the 2024 Republican National Convention.

It has been a decade since Kid Rock first backed President Trump, yet his commitment to the Republican party has intensified in recent months, particularly with his appearance at Turning Point USA's All-American Halftime Show, which was revealed after numerous right-wing figures criticized the NFL's choice to feature Bad Bunny as the headliner for the Apple Music Super Bowl LX halftime show, reports the Irish Star.

Since then, supporters, along with Kid Rock's fellow musicians, have distanced themselves from him. This summer, he is embarking on his Rock the Country festival which will travel through small communities across America to mark the 250th anniversary of the U.S.

His unwavering backing for Trump has prompted critics to brand the festival as a "MAGA music fest." Since it acquired this new name online, prominent artists, like Morgan Wade and Ludacris, have pulled out from the event.

Despite this, the event still features a star-studded lineup with Jelly Roll, Miranda Lambert, Jason Aldean and Blake Shelton amongst the headliners. Rock the Country kicked off in Bellville, Texas on May 1. The tour will run up until September 12, when it will conclude in Hamburg, New York.
