- Stan Lee's voice and likeness have been added to the ElevenLabs Iconic Marketplace, an AI service that allows customers to license AI versions of celebrities.

Stan Lee may have died, but that doesn't mean you have to stop hearing his voice or seeing his face.
AI audio company ElevenLabs announced on Wednesday that the Marvel comic book writer's voice and likeness have been added to its ElevenLabs Iconic Marketplace, which means its customers can now license an AI version of Lee for commercial use.
Chaz Rainey, a lawyer who helps manage Lee's likeness as part of Stan Lee Universe, said that the AI deal maintained the spirit of Lee's desire to cultivate a relationship with his fans.
"Stan always believed in meeting his fans where they were: in the pages of a comic, at a convention, or in a quick on-screen cameo," Rainey said in a statement, according to *Variety*. "This partnership is a way of continuing that. Fans have always told us that when they read his comics, they hear the words in Stan's voice, and now, thanks to ElevenLabs, we can make that a reality."
Rainey added, "His voice, his image, his love of storytelling… ElevenLabs gives us a way to keep that alive and in fans' hands in a way that's true to who he was."

ElevenLabs shared an AI-generated video narrated by "Lee" on its Instagram page.
"You know what they never tell you about legends? They outlive the page," the narrator says. "A good story doesn't belong to one moment. It grows. It changes, it gets passed from generation to generation, constantly evolving."
The video also invokes Spider-Man's mantra "With great power comes great responsibility," before the Lee-voiced narrator delivers the comic writer's catchphrase, "Excelsior!"

ElevenLabs is also using Lee's voice to narrate audiobooks in its new Stan Lee Book Club of the Month, which will kick off in June with *Treasure Island*. The company's Instagram post also says that fans can now "Generate your own Stan Lee cameo" and "Score your creations with Stan-inspired music," whatever that means.
Other voices available from ElevenLabs include Judy Garland, Michael Caine, David Hasselhoff, Maya Angelou, Art Garfunkel, Laurence Olivier, and J. Robert Oppenheimer.

Lee died in 2018 at the age of 95. He was previously resurrected using AI at L.A. Comic Con in 2025 as a hologram from Proto Hologram that could talk to fans.
"We'll never put words in his mouth that aren't in line with things he spoke about in his lifetime," Bob Sabouni, head of Stan Lee Legacy Programs for Kartoon Studios, said about the Stan Lee hologram in 2025. "Fortunately, with decades of footage capturing his thoughts on so many subjects, we can build a voice that stays true, not always word for word, but always faithful in spirit, context, and intent."
