Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton may have just won against Sen. John Cornyn, but his Democratic opponent in the General Election is not waiting to start throwing some punches.

Texas Democratic U.S. Senate nominee James Talarico called Paxton "the most corrupt politician in America” in a political ad mere minutes after the and Decision Desk declared Paxton the winner of the Republican runoff just after 8 p.m. CT.

Democratic U.S. Senate candidate for Texas, James Talarico, speaks during his primary election night party in Austin, Texas, U.S., March 4, 2026.

"Three years ago, Ken Paxton was impeached by his own party for using his public office to enrich himself and his donors — at the expense of the People," Talarico said in his ad. "That kind of corruption is the rot at the core of this broken system. It’s why we can’t afford anything. It’s why we can’t get ahead no matter how hard we work."

Talarico went on to say that the alleged corruption and rigging over the past 50 years could stop in the state.

"If we the people can come together to defeat the most corrupt politician in America, we can defeat this entire corrupt system," Talarico said in the ad.

Paxton and Talarico will face off against each other in November to become the next senator from Texas.
