Could this really be the endgame for Travis Kelce?

The Kansas City Chiefs star, 36, was the subject of retirement rumors prior to confirming his return for a 14th NFL season in March. While the three-time Super Bowl champion hasn’t yet addressed whether this will be his final year playing, his friend recently hinted at the tight end’s future.

Cris Carter, the Director of Player Development for FAU [Florida Atlantic University] Football, shared an Instagram photo posing alongside Kelce on Monday, July 20, with curious text written across the image. The message gave insight into his history working with the football player, plus what might be next for him.

“Andrew and I started with Travis before his rookie year in the NFL. Know the 🐐 is preparing for THE LAST DANCE. Next stop Canton/HOF,” Carter wrote, referencing Kelce’s possible retirement after his 14th NFL season and the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio.

Andrew Spruill, a personal trainer in Boca Raton, Fla., who owns the company Game Speed Trainer and has worked with Kelce for years, was also featured in the photo. Kelce puts in heavy work in the offseason under the guidance of Spruill, who ensures he’s game day ready for the season ahead.

Johnny Olsen, another longtime trainer of Kelce’s and the owner of Johnny O’s Gymnasium in Boca Raton, also posted a tribute to the Chiefs star as they prepare him for the upcoming NFL season, which kicks off in September.

“Some relationships in this business go beyond just training — Travis Kelce is one of them. He’s been coming into Johnny O’s for years, working closely with Andrew Spruill, and in that time he’s become so much more than a client — he’s a true friend, and his loyalty has meant more to this business than words can say,” Olsen began Monday on Instagram.

“Travis, thank you for your loyalty, your friendship, and for showing up year after year,” he continued. “Andrew and all of us at Johnny O’s are behind you all the way this season. Go get it, and we will be seeing you in five years wearing a gold jacket at the Pro Football Hall of Fame 🏆🖤.”

NFL players are considered eligible for the Pro Football Hall of Fame when they have been completely removed from the game for five consecutive seasons, according to the Pro Football Hall of Fame website.

Although Kelce hasn’t yet addressed whether this season will be his last, he has opened up about returning to the Chiefs. Kelce spoke about his decision to keep playing at Tight End University in late June, the week before his wedding to Taylor Swift at Madison Square Garden in New York City on July 3.

Kelce was greeted by Bussin’ With The Boys podcast co-hosts Will Compton and Taylor Lewan, who asked about fans questioning “whether he was going to hang it up” and retire ahead of the 2026-27 season.

“What was the main deciding factor for you to come back for another year?” Lewan, 34, asked the star tight end at the annual offseason training summit at Vanderbilt University’s FirstBank Stadium on June 23.

“Oh, I don’t want to cuss in front of everybody, but I love this s--t,” Kelce quipped.

Kelce has spent his entire NFL career with the Chiefs. The team selected him in the third round of the 2013 NFL Draft after he played for the University of Cincinnati Bearcats.
