Zendaya appreciates fan interest in her love story with Tom Holland, but also wants to "preserve" their personal life as much as possible.
During a chat on the *New York Times' Modern Love* podcast on Wednesday, the *Euphoria *star addressed the marriage rumors that have been circulating since her stylist, Law Roach, claimed at the Actor Awards last month that she and Holland secretly got married.
"There is a level of, like, a parasocial, like, investment in in my personal relationship, which I understand," she told host Anna Martin and her *The Drama* co-star Robert Pattinson. "I am aware that I'm a public person and so is he, and I'm also aware that, like, we've grown up in front of people, and we've done movies where we, like, fall in love with each other. So it's like, I really do understand that, and I don't want to dismiss that, like, 'Stay out of my business,' or whatever."
Zendaya and Holland, both 29, met in 2016 while filming *Spider-Man: Homecoming* and their romantic relationship was confirmed in 2021. Still, the couple has mainly kept a low profile over the years.
"In a lot of ways, I also am a very private person and I try my best to be able to have things for myself, and for him as well," Zendaya said of Holland. "And so we do our best, in general, to not hide ourselves from the world, but just to, I think, preserve things for ourselves so that we can maintain that joy just within ourselves and our loved ones and our family."
Both Martin and Pattinson were impressed with Zendaya's response, which she said is her "broad way of just saying I hear it, but I also like my own little boundaries of what I like to bring up and talk about, but then also what I'm also willing to share."

Pattinson, who maintains privacy in his own relationship with Suki Waterhouse, said Zendaya's reply was "literally practiced."
"I swear I didn't chart this," Zendaya sweetly stated. "I'm just answering your questions. I didn't know if you would ask that."

Although the pair primarily discussed the ins and outs of their new movie, both Zendaya and Pattinson shared a bit of insight into what makes their respective real-life romances work.
"I feel really known by my partner, by my friends, by my family," Zendaya said. "I think that is when I'm happiest is when I'm with all those people. I feel like I'm not thinking so much and trying to think about what I'm going to say before I say it ... like right now. They know you, they see you, and you feel safe."

Pattinson, 39, shared similar sentiments about Waterhouse, 34, whom he's been with since 2018.
"I feel like my partner, in a lot of ways, knows me better than I know myself," he said of Waterhouse, joking that "she'll kind of have quite psychic abilities about things."
He also noted that their 2-year-old daughter also knows him quite well and truly expects nothing but love from him.
"When your kid is looking at you, it's a different type of knowing because it's knowing without any, obviously they have desires from you, but it's funny ... it's just pure curiosity," he said. "You can see that they don't have a single issue with you, which is great. So nice."
*The Drama *hits theaters Friday.
